Greater Sydney Area
The Greater Sydney Area is known as Cape Breton Regional Municipality. As Nova Scotia's second largest municipality, the area is comprised of the City of Sydney and several surrounding communities. Tomorrow's Legends engaged with various entities, individuals and leaders in the sporting community to determine the best option for establishing its solar powered multi sports and cultural complex known as Legends Arena.
The former Centennial Arena, 220 Hospital Street, Sydney, which once operated as an ice rink was deemed the most feasible option for the new arena. Renovating a current structure as opposed to new construction, coupled with other sports venues already nearby better positioned the organization to achieve its goal of improving youth sports in Cape Breton. The Susan McEachern Memorial Ballpark, Cape Breton Gymnastics Academy, Atlantic Street Soccer Field and the Centennial Athletic Track are all situated in together allowing court sports to further complement the sports and recreational offerings.
